Terry: This past week I've spent time with four games: Zombie Apocalypse (good, but too long), Madden 10 (loved the AFL Legacy pack, but its not really for anyone who isn't a fan of an original AFL team), Batman: Arkham Asylum (I hated the Killer Croc boss battle but the game is still frickin' sweet), and Warriors: Street Brawl.
Normally I'm not much of an online player. Sure I have drunken Halo 3 matches when my brother comes over, but unless I'm reviewing a game I usually avoid multiplayer like the plague. There's just too many jerks out there ruining the experience by either doing something stupid or being racist a-holes. I also play too many games to focus on one title to be very good online. I'm an okay Halo player, but when I try other games online I usually get smoked. All that said, I may need to reconsider my thinking.
I played Street Brawl with Sean this week and had a lot of fun. We were playing a very average game, but cracking wise jokes about what we were doing was a blast. So maybe I'm missing out on something. To show I'm open to trying something new, feel free to send me a friend request. My gamertag is coloradojoe. If you're into any sports title or MUA2, I might be up for a game.
Sean: I've done it. I converted my best friend of 15 years, an anti-Xboxite, to my religion. This week, he purchased a 42'' Insignia Plasma screen TV with a Xbox and NCAA Football 10. Needless to say, it's been a busy week trouncing the University of Michigan with my alma mater, Michigan State. Kirk Cousins throwing for 300+ yards and a pair of TDs on a consistent basis. Hey, I gotta make up for the horrendous play the Spartans have actually been showing every Saturday with losses to Central Michigan, Notre Dame and Wisconsin. This weekend, MSU hosts U-M and bragging rights could fall into my hands with an upset win.
When I wasn't in amazement at the graphics of the 360 on a large screen plasma TV, I was playing The Warriors: Street Brawl with Terry, laughing and making jokes about beating up women without batting an eyelash in the game. I guess 1979 was a different time. Ion Assault was a decent game to play as well and of course, more Defense Grid: The Awakening.
Jay: I have been playing a lot of DRiiFT Mania for review. I actually wasn't all that fond of the game when I started playing it, and I explain that in my review. The more I forced myself to play and win races, the more I actually found myself liking it. You can read more about that in my full review.
The rest of the week has been the wait for the PSP Go, which I will have by the time this column goes live. It is safe to assume that I will be playing some Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy VII and a slew of other games from the PSOne Classics collection.
Joseph: Man, I have been playing some weird stuff over the past seven days, all of which are completely and totally unreleated. First up is Gemini Lost, which I reviewed for GPA earlier this week. It's basically "Boss: The Game," as all you do is make people work, regardless of how tired or hungry they are. The sadistic glee that it inspired regardless, GL is a fun, unique casual title thats well worth checking out, and would make a great WiiWare title if they were so inclined (hint, hint).
Oh, and I met
