Droplitz bends and twists your mind so tightly at times, you might find yourself going absolutely insane, vowing to throw your Xbox 360 out the window. But, because the game is actually too addicting to lose ... and because you don't want to hit your dad in the head while he's mowing the lawn, you'll refrain. But it's true -- this one will test your mind, body and soul. It's time to sharpen your senses and see what you got.
Rotate pipe sections to fit the design so the yellow ooze dripping down won't leak all over, causing you to fail the mission if your backup completely empties. But, just like in Pipe Dream or the miniature game in Bioshock, the more successful your maze, the better the outcome.
Lasting as long as possible as levels continue to shoot at you is what's addictive about it. And although the game, in general, is incrediby simple and brainless (in a sense), you'll find yourself wanting to master it to prove to you're smarter than it is. I think it was created to be peaceful but if you look away for a second, that state of mind will change quickly, trust me.
Sound effects and overall level tunes can become annoying and constantly cycling backgrounds can be a strain on the eyes, but nothing too drastic. It doesn't necessarily take away from the experience, it just doesn't add to it like sound/graphics should in DLC. But the simplicity and ability to lose yourself in the game is really what it's trying to accomplish. Mark a check in that box. Success.
Classic, Zendurance Challenge, Power Up and Infection are the four game modes in Droplitz. Oddly though, there is no multiplayer. And in the age of XBLA and PSN and everything they're capable of, that seems like a swing and a miss. Although it's meant to be simple with varying difficulty later on, $10 might be a bit steep just to spend on something that sucks time out of your day. Then again, what are video games? It depends on your thought process.
Pros: Simple, weirdly addicting
Cons: No multiplayer, boring sound and graphical design, lack of variety
