Tetris has never been so unbelievably addicting. With 10 game modes -- three brand new ones -- you'll be given every scenario in the Tetris world one could possibly think of. Perhaps the best part is taking down competition, real gameplayers from across the world, who all think this is their domain. But you're ready to prove them wrong, aren't you?
In Tetris Battle 6P, you'll battle against five other humans in a two-minute, free-for-all round where you want to rack up as many deducted lines as possible. KO the competition by racking up the most and prove you're untouchable.
Tetris 1989 is exactly what it sounds like, a tribute to the handleheld version that made the addicting puzzler what it is today. The only thing is, why would you play a black and white version with grainy one-bit music when you can spice it up with newer versions? It's cool for one round, maybe ... then you want something fresher. Luckily, there's plenty of that.
And Tetris Acorn Drop is all about Scrat (Ice Age's character). Free up acorns inside a frozen tundra Tetris board. You fill 15 bushels, you win. Do it fast and watch your points rise quicker. Essentially, this is a promotion for the movie, but with the cartoony music and fun border, it's worth your time.
Gameplay is smooth and the Web site is set up cleanly and very easy to navigate. It's simple, but effective. Games start fast and not to mention ... it's FREE to join. Earn tokens for unlockables and plenty of other goodies, like colorful Tetris blocks or invisible ghost versions. It's all worth collecting if you're an avid Tetris pro. This Web site will do one of three things: reinstate your love in Tetris, keep that passion going if it's already there or serve as something to do when you're not on Facebook and Twitter. So, stop tweeting and play some Tetris.
Pros: Gives Tetris a fresh feel, quick matchmaking, unique unlockables, free
Cons: No multiplayer on potentially fun gameplay modes
GamePro Score: 4.0
