This week gamers can download nine (9!) titles. Starting today, Nintendo fanboys can pick up three new WiiWare games (Eduardo the Samurai Toaster, Rainbow Islands: Towering Adventure, Let's Catch), two new DSi games (Mario Calculator, Mario Clock) and one new Virtual Console game (Space Harrier).  On Wednesday Xbox 360 owners can download Sam & Max Save the World and Magic the Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers.

So what do PS3 owners get? So glad you asked. This Thursday (hands getting clammy, forehead sweaty) at the PlayStation Store (wiping the drool from the corner of my mouth) you (and especially me) can download PS1 classic Metal Gear Solid. That's right, the greatest game of all time (in my opinion, and I swear these are the last parentheses you'll see in this post) is finally coming to PSN as a downloadable title. About. Damn. Time. I have been waiting and whining for this game forever. June 18, 2009 is Columbus Day, Groundhog Day, and Guy Fawkes Day all rolled into one. If I could smooch the greasy head of whoever finally put this fantastic game on the PSN store I would. Now if you'll excuse me, my wife and I have to get our Snake and Meryl outfits on. I hope she doesn't mind.

Hit the jump for all the fine print on this week's releases.

I too consider Metal Gear Solid my favorite game of all time. Easily one of the most, if not the most, innovative titles ever. Even though I own the black label, I might as well download it just to show my love. :P
