It's round two for Wallace and Gromit on the PC, coming out in The Last Resort after their debut in Fright of the Bumblebees. And with a new plot and more in-depth minigames and brainbusters, this sequal does just about everything right -- fixing the bugs from the original and truly coming into its own for the younger crowd, allowing them to have fun and learn at the same time, using their heads to think of solutions to Wallace's goof ups. It helps that the duo is an extremely adorable pair together, too.

With his heart set on a vacation at the seaside, Gromit is immediately crushed when the weather proves unbearable for flip flops and sunglasses. Think Wallace would just call it quits? No way. It's time to bring the beach to their own home (in the basement), filled with water, sand, lounge chairs and so much more. The title consists of three sectors: the first, gathering supplies, the second, assisting customers and running the business, and third, solving a pending mystery within the plot.

Wallace and Gromit's interactions are incredibly hilarious and will even have older crowds laughing and falling in love with each character they meet. From settling disputes to finding ways to snatch supplies, you're given the freedom to do a lot in this title, even more than the first time. The visuals are spot on and the controls are simple and easy, just what they should be. The smoothness of everything together makes The Last Resort a joy to play, never feeling too stuck and discouraged like in Fright of the Bumblebees. They found their errors and fixed them -- which makes you think, how will episodes three and four be when they come out? Even better?

The real fun gets cooking when a West Wallaby Waterworld guest is clunked on the head by an unknown, everyone turning into a possible culprit. It's up to you to assist Wallace and Gromit in this detective case, with a little help from Wallace's brand-spanking-new Deductomatic. Catchy, eh?

Unfortunately, the scenes in the game become montonous after awhile, as you see the same few screenshots over and over. Loads of random characters are main highlights of the title as well, and Wallace and Gromit seem to be pushed to the side a bit, especially when you're hoping for more conversations between them. Afterall, isn't the game named after the two? People are fans of the series because of the two lovable characters -- not the secondaries. But either way, the game is fun, enjoyable and worth every penny for lovers of the inventor and his dog.
