Egosoft has done a good job of creating a unique space simulation for fans of the biggest thing we have going for us, space. Space is the main focus in X3 and it’s covered with much care and detail. Well, Egosoft is back again with the latest installment to their X3 franchise. Terran Conflict 2.0 – The Aldrin Missions features a slew of new missions, ships and other goodies to get you and your ship back into planetary travel. The missions can be lengthy and are somewhat interesting but fetch quest can become tedious after awhile.

Let’s get the biggest thing out of the way. Fans of the series will feel right at home and know what they are getting into. Newcomers should be forewarned, this is a hardcore space simulation game. So unless you’re very much into space sims or are looking for something new, then this may not be the title for you.
You might be asking yourself, "why discuss the fans so much?" Well, as stated before this is a hardcore space simulation. The word hardcore is put into full effect because of the immense amount of inputs and controls given at your disposal. As with most sims it has a large list of additives and such for your ship and what you do in the game. Faint at heart players might have a tough time getting into this game especially if you’re coming in late to the series, there is no real tutorial for newbies. Controls suffer the same fate, although in this edition the controls have been, uh um, toned down. It’s like taking a calculus problem and instead of having a 16-digit answer it has an 8 digit one.
X3’s newest installment is worth checking out if you’re a fan of the previous iterations. You will definitely get the bang for your buck and the additives to the ships and missions will keep you occupied for a long time. Pick up your space boots and man the captain’s chair your ready for some interstellar travel.
Pros: New additions are always a plus
Cons: Tough controls and very hardcore gameplay, not for newbie’s
