What happened to top down shooters? They were on top of the world in the 80’s and 90’s and now, nothing. Getting a group of friends together to see who could get the farthest the fastest, co-op or not, was amazingly fun. But now nothing uses the old school scheme we grew up on. Well, fans can now rejoice thanks to Xbox Community Game “Xeno Arena” a brand new top down shooter to appease your hunger for guns and corridors.
You’re pretty much hitting the bare basics here with corridor after corridor maze to traverse through, killing menacing aliens left and right and seeing how far into the rabbit’s hole you can go. Armed to the teeth with shotguns, assault rifles and your wits you dive into the foggy arena blasting everything in sight. Simple, satisfying and numerous levels make this a game with great overall appeal.

Controls are easy as pie with the analog sticks controlling movement and the RB shooting your gun. You swap weapons with the triggers and use the right analog to aim and shoot more precisely. Visuals are decent enough to feel new and improved as well as a soundtrack with some eerie sounds.
Without a doubt “Xeno Arena” is one of those titles that is definitely worth checking out. And at a mere 200 MS point it’s not going to make or break the bank by any means.
