We all loved last year’s Geometry Wars second release. Well Imagine if someone took that same great concept and added a funky beat mix to it that you could control yourself? “Groov” has that covered.

As one of the newer XNA community titles, “Groov” puts you behind the music machine as a ship bound for beats. By which I mean you shoot different types of shapes that produce beats and sounds. While it may sound like it’s going to just produce random noises, in actuality, it produces a pretty nice beat that you will more than likely jam too while playing. So Groove isn’t just a Geometry Wars clone, the music that changes upon killing enemies is what makes it stand out.

Simple twin stick shooter controls bring you right back home with that classic Geometry Wars feel. Same can be said about the design of the board and the overall layout and games visual styling. But a unique sound system brings in a whole new chapter for the game. You will never hear the same thing twice, since every time you play you will hit a different set of enemies in a different order causing a new beat to strike up.

Fans of these style of games will surely enjoy this title and at a mere 200 points its cheap and fun enough to keep you coming back plenty of time until the next installment of Geometry Wars.
