Jeopardy! kicks ass. Greatest. Game show. Ever. Wheel of Fortune, The Price is Right and Hollywood Squares (unless Triumph the Insult Comic Dog is on) couldn't hold Jeopardy's jock. You'd think a video game based on such a popular show would be fun to play and easy to make but as SOE has found with its recent release, that's not necessarily the case. A multiple choice, Trebek-less, game isn't exactly what fans of Jeopardy! are looking for.

The PSN version of Jeopardy! starts out just like the show, with the familiar theme music and listing of categories. Gameplay is straight forward, with up to three players reading questions and ringing in and answering by pressing the X button. The questions cover a wide range of topics and can sometimes be quite challenging. If you don't like the in-game avatars, players can create their own.

Jeopardy! the game is a lot like the show but its differences are such a distraction that it takes out some of the fun. The questions are all multiple choice, which can't be helped when putting the show in a video game format, but often many of the answers are so off the wall that selecting the right response is too easy. Visually the game is a mixed bag, with sets that look detailed but with avatars that look like Geico cavemen. But the biggest offender is the audio - the Jeopardy! voice over guy is mute and Alex Trebek is nowhere to be found. His podium stands unmanned, like a virtual shrine to the great host.

Playing with friends on or offline is still enjoyable and even a multiple choice version of Jeopardy! can be fun at times. But considering everything that's missing and its high price, purchasing Jeopardy! is riskier than a Potent Potables Double Jeopardy question.

Pros: Fun to play with friends, online play works well

Cons: Not enough bang for your fifteen bucks, poor game presentation, How can you call it Jeopardy without Alex Trebek?!?
