Major League Eating: The Game is exactly what you would expect it to be, including all of the burping and farting that you can handle. This barf-fest uses the same mechanic for each stage and there is no sense of any progression through the single player mode.
Gameplay consists of a one-on-one "battle" to see who can gobble down more food in a predetermined amount of time. Depending on the type of food, the Wii remote motion will vary slightly. Food options include meatballs, hamburgers and peppers. Concurrent with the motion controls, a timing minigame to chew and digest your food takes place. If you become too full, you need to shake the remote as quickly as possible which enables you to dance and, of course, clear you to eat more.
Power-ups also come into play with such classic MLE moves as farting and burping which temporarily stun your opponent. Also, a "burp-off" or hot potato sequence will commence every so often. All of these options occur in the first match you play and feel extremely shallow.
Surprisingly, MLE: The Game has online play, but without voice chat (not MLE: The Game's fault) there is no incentive to play online.
Real MLE players are available, but only four are unlocked at the start with many more unlockable. Each player has a specific type of food that he or she specializes in. The graphics look like they came out straight from the previous console generation with simple characters and environments. The sound quality is equally poor.
MLE: The Game is extremely shallow in both gameplay and modes available. The only people who would have any fun with this game are youngsters who cannot stop laughing at bathroom humor.
Pros: Nothing else quite like it
Cons: Shallow gameplay, Skimpy on modes, Last-gen graphics
